Orientation - Advising - Registration
Welcome to Ridgewater!
Each semester, new incoming students will be invited to attend an upcoming Orientation, Advising, and Registration (OAR) event. Students and their families will have the opportunity to get to learn more about Ridgewater's programs and services, as well as some time to interact with other new students, some faculty and staff.
Our goal is for you to have everything you need for a successful beginning at Ridgewater College. Before you attend you will be asked to view our online orientation.
We hope that this will prove to be a good resource to come back to if you have questions at a later date.
Orientation – These sessions provide valuable information about everything Ridgewater has to offer. You’ll gain insight into the financial aid process, available technology resources, the Business Office, even the cafeteria! The information presented here will form the foundation of your experience at Ridgewater. Please arrive on time for your scheduled session.
Advising – This is the process of discussing your educational goals with an academic advisor, counselor, or instructor. Through these discussions, you will develop an educational plan that serves as an academic roadmap.
Registration – Using the plan developed during the advising process, you will choose the classes to take for the upcoming session. Often there are many sections of the same class available, which aids in developing a class schedule that works best for you.
We offer a Parent/Family Session during the orientation session for students. We invite you to encourage your family to attend.
If you are just starting your studies at Ridgewater, watch for your invitation and don't miss this important opportunity!
