Spring of 2014: Urinetown– dir. Chad Tallon
Urinetown: The Musical is a satirical comedy musical from 2001, that satirizes the legal system, capitalism, social responsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and municipal politics. In reverse pantomime style, the unconventional plotline shatters audience expectations of a somewhat pleasant ending.
In the musical, a 20-year drought brings the end of private restrooms and the rise of Urine Good Company. Fueled by greed UGC forces people to pay to use toilets. Failure to pay lands full-bladdered souls into the arms of the police force and the depth of the feared Urinetown.
