Jerrid Sebesta '99 - Weatherman
Jerrid Sebesta, Ridgewater Class of ’99, is a television meteorologist for KARE 11, an NBC affiliate in the Minneapolis – St. Paul, Minnesota market.
“There was a comfort factor to attending Ridgewater College. I wasn’t sure that I was prepared to attend the University of North Dakota immediately; I wasn’t sure that I was mature enough. My experiences at Ridgewater prepared me for the next season of my life.” - Jerrid
At Ridgewater: 1997 to 1999 – AA degree
Jerrid played basketball for the Ridgewater Warriors, and was named All-Conference 1997 through 1999. He also received the “Wind Bag Award” from speech instructor Julie Bredeson.
“I am glad that I choose to attend Ridgewater College prior to transferring to a 4-year college. The attention that I received at Ridgewater helped me to be academically prepared. The small class size and personal attention that instructors gave me helped me to be successful.” - Jerrid
After Ridgewater: 1999 to 2002
Jerrid transferred to the University of North Dakota and continued to play basketball and was named captain his senior year. At UND he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science.
