Biological Sciences

About the Program

This program is designed for students interested in the various fields of biological sciences such as cell biology, environmental science, fish and wildlife management, forestry, genetics, and microbiology. Students majoring in Biological Sciences may also be interested in the following program areas: biochemistry, chemistry, pre-chiropractic, pre-dentistry, pre-medicine, pre-medical technology, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, and pre-veterinary medicine.

Students will take such classes as:

  • General Biology
  • Principles of Chemistry
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Calculus
  • Statistics

Career/Occupational Info

Some graduates with a bachelor’s degree start as biological scientists in testing and inspection, or as technical sales and service representatives. Others become biological technicians, medical laboratory technologists, or, with courses in education, high school biology teachers.
