Calibration Engineering Technology

About the Program

The Calibration Engineering Technology program encompasses a spectrum of technologies dealing with calibration and metrology. The program has a core of 24 credits that gives a solid base for understanding many careers in the manufacturing field. Classes include electronics, computer controls, fluid power, and calibration, just to name a few. Students use equipment found in the calibration and metrology industry:

  • Fluke calibrators
  • Testing equipment used in manufacturing
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Physical and dimensional systems
  • PID controllers with temperature/flow
  • Pressure control systems

The Calibration Engineering Technology program emphasizes a hands–on training style combined with technical studies that allows students to apply the knowledge they gain. Students will take courses about computer calibration, print reading, fluid density/flow, power, electrical systems, introduction to programmable logic controllers and troubleshooting.  This is a unique program, one of only five in the nation.
