Our students embrace the world that we live in, welcoming diversity and meeting challenges and opportunities head on. Our students are not only engaged in our College, but also engaged in our communities. They want to make a difference in their families, their careers and in society. They have chosen Ridgewater College as a step in preparing them for their future and influencing their present.
"My name is Hailey and I am a first-year student in the vet tech program here at Ridgewater. Coming into the program I was confident that I was going to enjoy learning and enjoy the road to becoming a vet tech. Little did I know that it was going to be so much more than that. These amazing instructors, that will become a big part of your life for the next two years, will teach you much more than how to become great vet techs. This program would not be anywhere near as incredible as it is without the caring, hard working, passionate, and sometimes stubborn people (gratefully so), that are running it.
This year has been a journey that I will never forget and will always be grateful for. I have made many friends, I have learned much more than I thought I would, and my love and passion for animals has magnified to an intensity that I didn't think was possible.
The best advice I could give you all, is experience everything offered to you:
Laugh everyday. Study more than you think your brain can handle. Make friends with everyone. Learn from each other. Do not be afraid of anything new. AND more importantly open up to the family you are now apart of. Talk to your instructors, ask questions and seek advice from them. This program is tough. You will laugh uncontrollably at some point in almost every class, you will scream in frustration at your homework on a regular basis, but you will make unforgettable friendships with so many people and you will, no doubt, make everlasting memories, all while getting an amazing education! I wish you all the best of luck and hope you can experience everything this program has to offer!"
