What is a Veterinary Technician?

A veterinary technician is the combination of a nurse and a medical technologist. He/she is a highly trained paraprofessional and an integral part of the veterinary medical team. Technologists and technicians work under the supervision of veterinarians. They perform a number of services for patients but do not diagnose, prescribe, or perform surgery.
