Meet the Faculty


Chad Tallon

Chad Tallon
is the main theatre faculty and director here at Ridgewater College. Chad received his MFA in Acting from Western Illinois University at his BA in Theatre from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.   Chad has acted professionally in over 38 of the 50 states and some of his favorite roles include:  Greater Tuna (Thurston), The Producers (Franz), Fiddler On The Roof (Lazar Wolfe), The Foreigner (Froggie), Funny Money (Henry Perkins), Chicago (Amos Hart), and The Full Monty (Dave) while also appearing in Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, and Hanzel and Gretel for professional Children’s Theatre at Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater, Michigan. Other professional acting credits include the National Tours of Taming of the Shrew (Grumio) and Of Mice and Men (Candy).  In addition to acting this Chad is also one of the playwrights of the professionally produced children’s show Magic Rocks! The Musical! At Ridgewater, Chad has directed Lend Me A Tenor, Godspell, and Eurydice as well as written and performed in the Inaugural Ridgewater variety show Puttin’ On The Ridge

Drew Hampton

Drew Hampton is a Texas native with a BFA and MFA in Acting, Drew led the Ridgewater Theatre Department from Fall 2011 through Spring 2012.  While at Ridgewater, he directed Proof and a debut reading of Box of Crayons (a piece written by Drew and the cast).  Drew has lived and worked in theatre all over the country.  He’s acted professionally in over 50 productions and served as a technician, director, and/or playwright in 25 others.  Drew wrote The Seesaw, a prize-winning short play that has been professionally produced in Washington, DC (Source Festival) and in Milwaukee (Milwaukee Rep).  Drew currently teaches Acting and Introduction to Theatre at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA as well as the Online Introduction to Film Class at Ridgewater. (Fun fact: in 2012, he was a finalist for the Blue Man Group, getting to audition in costume and full make-up.)
