A message from President Craig Johnson
Welcome to Ridgewater College!
Dating back to 1961, Ridgewater College has established a strong tradition of providing high-quality, affordable education for learners who seek to achieve their full potential and enrich their lives through personalized and relevant education in an accessible, supportive and inclusive environment. We are committed to providing a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds and identities, with a Students First! philosophy and a commitment to affordability, equity, excellence and innovation.
A wide range of personal stories demonstrating the value of a Ridgewater education can be found in our local communities. Many of our alumni and employees come from multi-generational Ridgewater families and many local success stories began with a Ridgewater education. Whether you are seeking specific job skill training, or a technical program to prepare you for a career track, or a liberal arts education for personal growth or transfer to a four-year institution, Ridgewater is committed to meeting your needs and exceeding your expectations.
Please note that Ridgewater is not resting on its past achievements – we are constantly striving to evolve with the changing world around us. The growing diversity of our surrounding communities enriches our college community, enhancing campus life and classroom discussions and strengthening our capacity to serve as a vital resource in the economic health and well-being of our local communities and region. With our Equity 2030 commitment to eliminate all performance and achievement gaps in our student population, we are increasing our focus on providing equitable access to education for every individual who seeks a better quality of life. While attaining a post-secondary credential continues to be critically relevant to career and life success, we also seek to ensure that every student has a genuine opportunity for inclusive engagement in the workforce and in community life beyond our campus boundaries.
While Ridgewater continues to be challenged by the COVID-19 crisis, we have been able to significantly limit the number of COVID cases on our campuses. We screen every person who comes to campus each day and we conduct contact tracing for every COVID case reported in our college community. We also actively monitor and respond to changing conditions around us to ensure that the health and safety of our college community is our top priority while continuing to meet the needs of our students to ensure their academic and career success.
For the Spring 2021 semester, we will offer our full array of courses through a a limited number of fully face-to-face courses on campus and a combination of courses delivered fully online or as blended/hybrid courses that combine on-campus, remote and online instruction. We are well-prepared to provide our full range of student support services on campus or through online/remote connections with our experienced and caring staff. We also realize that some students may have technology challenges, so we are ready to help every student with any technology needs or connectivity issues that may challenge their ability to effectively engage in online and distance learning.
If you are a prospective student considering how Ridgewater might fit into your education and career plans, please reach out and connect with one of our recruiters or advisors. We will put your needs first and help you make decisions that are best for you. And if you are a current Ridgewater student, we are excited to have you back with us for the Spring 2021 semester – virtually or on campus!
